The venerable Pacific Coast Nurseryman magazine, which covers nursery news in 13 states and British Colubmia, has stopped print publication after nearly seven decades. “Owner Rita Kwasnick made a difficult decision to exit the magazine business due to financial problems posed by the economy and declining advertising revenues,” a press release stated. “She closed the PCN headquarters office in Glendora, Calif., effective April 30.”
Managing editor Kathleen Pyle hopes to resurrect the title after a hiatus. “We’re excited about creating a new PCN that’s younger, fresher, and more responsive to both subscribers and advertisers. In the meantime, we will continue to post news and articles regularly on our Facebook page and blog at http://pcnatthegreenshow.wordpress.com,” Pyle stated in the same press release. We wish Pacific Coast Nurserymen the best of luck as they find a path for the future.
