The Clackamas Community College Horticulture Department has announced its spring quarter classes, and registration started on March 3. Credit classes begin on March 30, and there are also some workshops and short courses available at different times through May 29. Courses deal with such subjects as garden design, pesticides, greenhouse crops, pruning, turf installation, landscaping, plant identification, irrigation and drainage, plant propagation, organic gardening, hardscape installation, kitchen herbs, and soils and fertilizers. The full schedule is here (PDF), and the registration form is here.
There’s also an online course, “Western Oregon Broadleaf Weeds.” This is something new, and it’s good for four ODA pesticide recertification credits, as well as credits toward a landscape construction professionals license. The cost is $35. Be aware that enrollment is only allowed until March 9 and the online class must be completed within a week of registration. Online orientation is at http://dl.clackamas.edu/hor-009-07. For details, contact Renee Harber, [email protected].
