Ending radio silence

By Curt Kipp — Posted August 24, 2011

We apologize for the lack of posts here at the Daily Digger blog over the past couple of months. Some of you may know that June, July and August are our busiest months in the OAN Publications Department, due to the publication of the OAN Nursery Guide, the yearly Digger: Farwest Edition and the OAN Member Directory, plus all of the preparations for the annual Farwest Show.

Those are the usual projects. In addition, this year we have been working on the extra-useful Safe Procurement and Production Manual, a 100-page book designed to help nurseries reduce their risk of plant damage and production problems from dangerous and exotic pests and pathogens.

These projects keep us incredibly busy. Fortunately, not all has been silent beneath the surface. Watch this space for some exciting developments that have already happened or will happen soon, including:

  • Flipbook editions of each monthly Digger — Read the magazine, turn the pages, see the ads and click the links, right on your computer!
  • Our own domain address — No need to remember the old blogspot addy, just type in www.diggermagazine.com!
  • A mobile-optimized version of this site — Read this site easily on your mobile phone without having to pinch-zoom and pan! See this post for details!
  • And finally, a new-and-improved Daily Digger — We hope to have a new version of the site online by the end of 2011. Let us know what you would like to see.

Regular postings will now resume, including news from the Farwest Show, happening this week in beautiful Portland, Ore.! We hope to see you there. Look for Curt and Elizabeth, who will be roaming the show floor.
