The Portland area will play host for the 2009 Garden Centers of America Summer Tour, which will be June 28-July 1. The 12-stop tour consists entirely of OAN member garden centers, including Al’s Garden Centers, Bauman Farms, Yard n’ Garden Land, Tsugawa Nursery, Shorty’s Garden & Home, Drake’s Seven Dees Garden Centers, Portland Nursery, Garden Fever, Cornell Farm, Hughes Water Garden, The Garden Corner and Red Ridge Farms. Tour registration is now open. Until June 6, GCA members pay $550 and nonmembers pay $600. After that, the costs go up to $750 and $800. To sign up, or for details, browse the 2009 Summer Tour Web page. The OAN is thrilled to have the GCA tour in Portland this summer and is excited to note that GCA will create a merchandising workshop in the Interactive Learning Center during this year’s Farwest Show (more details to come).
