The 2011 Farwest Show is underway, and the Expo floor is a beehive of activity this afternoon. Exhibitors are finding plenty of visitors to talk to, and visitors are finding plenty to see, hear and experience.
There is plenty of knowledge to be gained, both in the morning seminars and in a series of afternoon presentations on the show floor. The Garden Center Pavilion has a demonstration area concentrating on retail-oriented topics, while conifer-oriented presentations — it is after all the Year of the Conifer — are taking place today and Friday at the Grower Demo area at the back left corner of the show floor.
Two other highlights still to come today include the 3:45 p.m. presentation by Ian Baldwin on the future of horticulture, and the 6 p.m. reception featuring Dr. Michael Dirr and legendary college football coach Vince Dooley. The show floor is open until 6 p.m. tonight.
Come back tomorrow morning and we will have an assortment of “Scenes from the Farwest Show” photos for you to peruse and enjoy.
