Fall Creek hires IT director, grower support rep

Fall Creek Farm & Nursery Inc.,, international blueberry breeding and nursery company, recently filled two new positions, according to releases from the company. Both will be based out of the Lowell, Oregon headquarters.

J. Nathan Jurgens has been appointed information technology (IT) director for Fall Creek Farm and Nursery Inc. He will develop, plan, and implement an IT strategy for the company that will focus on accelerating business growth, enhancing cyber security, and recruiting and retaining IT employees.

Jurgens joins the company with 15 years of industry experience, and previously served as a project management IT consultant in Alabama. He earned a Master of Business Administration in information security management from Saint Leo University in Florida. He is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a bachelor degree in the Spanish language from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ranjeet Singh Randhawa has been hired as a product and grower support representative for the international blueberry grower’s support team. He will work with commercial customers in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia with technical support, including variety selection, growing conditions, harvesting and quality control.

Randhawa is an agronomist who earned his Ph.D. in horticultural sciences and a master’s degree in agribusiness from the University of Florida; a master’s degree in weed science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Punjab Agricultural University in India. His work included analyzing technology for measuring nitrous oxide emissions, designing and conducting field trials for nutsedge control, evaluating herbicide products, and developing integrated weed management techniques for herbicide-resistant weeds.
