CHANNEL SALES MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Channel Sales Manager is responsible for strengthening and growing sales across designated channels. This role focuses on building relationships, improving how we work with our partners, and developing the systems and processes that support consistent, effective sales execution. In collaboration with leadership, sales peers, and the broader nursery team, this role contributes to sales strategy while proactively identifying growth opportunities, solving operational challenges, and driving practical solutions that support long-term success.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners through excellent customer service, consistent communication, onsite visits, customer tours, industry events, and trade shows.
  • Strengthen and grow existing customer partnerships by understanding business objectives and aligning products, programs, and support to drive mutual success.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and optimize sales channels through improved collaboration, communication, and market alignment.
  • Develop and implement scalable sales processes that enhance consistency, accountability, and overall channel performance.
  • Partner with leadership to support sales strategy development, forecasting, and go-to-market planning.
  • Serve as a key liaison between customers, vendor partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment and timely communication.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze sales performance metrics and provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events to strengthen relationships and expand market presence.
  • Collaborate with vendor and brand partners to maximize program opportunities, incentives, and sales growth initiatives.
  • Support product positioning, inventory communication, and seasonal planning across all sales channels.
  • Drive structure and accountability within the sales pipeline by ensuring opportunities are effectively tracked, followed up on, and converted.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • 3+ years of sales experience required; nursery/horticulture experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plant material, including identification and performance characteristics.
  • Strong communicator with effective presentation skills across in-person, phone, and written formats.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and align products, programs, and timing to drive success.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to drive results independently.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
  • Experience improving processes to enhance efficiency and sales performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP/inventory systems (e.g., PlantX) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with sound judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events; valid driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

  • Collaborate with company leaders to develop crop plans
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and company growth initiatives

What we’re looking for

  • A degree in Horticulture or 4+ years of hands-on greenhouse production experience preferred
  • Someone who listens well, communicates clearly, and works well with others
  • Someone who sees every crop as a chance to grow

MEDIA PREP TECHNICAL LEAD

Microplant Nurseries Media Preparation Team annually produces over one million plant vessels for use by our Production Team. The Media Prep Technical Lead helps the department by supporting daily operations, coaching team members, maintaining equipment and supplies, improving systems, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the Media Prep Department including: Supplies-ordering, inventory, testing, setting teamwork schedules, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, record keeping, problem solving and general trouble shooting, improving overall departmental efficiency and celebrating team success.
  • Oversee daily operations and quality control, making decisions on chemical stock and media specifications, workflow, timely delivery, and rule compliance.
  • Coach, train, and support team members by openly communicating ideas and celebrating goal milestones. Builds follow-through and accountability by developing training documentation and standard operation procedures, skills testing and annual reviews, updating documents, checklists, signs, and translations.
  • Collaborates with Management team for companywide problem-solving and development, helping to implement practical, lasting improvements.
  • Will be trained in becoming the Safety Director (within 6 months) supporting safety meetings, accident follow-up, and company-wide safety issues.
  • Helps in planning and implementing employee events
  • “On call” for helping to open or close the building or any emergency issues that affect lab operations.

Preferred job requirements include basic science or lab background; Production, agriculture, horticulture, or process-driven experience; Training or leadership experience; Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Must be willing and able to perform hands-on physical work in a production laboratory environment standing most of the shift, lifting up to 40 lbs. Hours Mon – Fri 7:30 am–4 pm.

Compensation: $32.75/hour; W&D bonus eligible position. Full vision, dental, and medial insurance after 60 days of employment; 8 Paid Holidays; Other discretionary annual bonus and profit-sharing opportunities.

WHOLESALE NURSERY PROPAGATION MANAGER

About us: We are a well-established wholesale tree and shrub nursery with a strong reputation for quality plant material and consistent production. Our greenhouse propagation program is the foundation of our operation, utilizing a range of techniques including seed, tissue culture tip cuttings, and hardwood cuttings. We are seeking an experienced and driven Nursery Propagation Manager to lead this critical function.

Position Summary: The Nursery Propagation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of greenhouse propagation, ensuring the successful production of healthy, uniform plant material ready for container stepping or field planting. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, forward planning and thinking, and a hands-on approach to daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all propagation activities including seed, tissue culture tip cuttings, and hardwood cuttings.
  • Develop and execute propagation schedules aligned with production goals.
  • Monitor and optimize environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, irrigation, light) within greenhouse facilities.
  • Ensure high success rates in rooting, germination, and early-stage plant development.
  • Supervise, train, and lead propagation staff, fostering a productive and accountable team environment.
  • Coordinate with production teams on timing for stepping up liners or transitioning to field planting.
  • Maintain strict quality control standards for plant health, uniformity, and readiness.
  • Implement integrated pest management (IPM) practices in propagation areas.
  • Track and report propagation metrics, crop progress, and labor efficiency.
  • Manage inventory of propagation materials, supplies, and inputs.
  • Continuously improve propagation techniques, efficiencies, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on wholesale nursery propagation experience.
  • At least 5 years in a lead or management role within a propagation or greenhouse setting.
  • Proven expertise in seed propagation, tissue culture tip cuttings, and hardwood cuttings.
  • Strong knowledge of greenhouse systems, climate control, and irrigation practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to plant quality.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple propagation cycles simultaneously.
  • Experience with nursery production software or tracking systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $80,000–$100,000 Salary.
  • Relocation allowance provided for hired candidate moving to the Gresham, OR area.
