According to The Oregonian (Portland, Ore.), the proposed new Palomar natural gas pipeline from Astoria to Central Oregon has been tabled. The reason? Not enough demand. The pipeline would have traversed farmland in the northern Willamette Valley, which made it a concern for many farmers, including nursery growers. However, NW Natural still maintains that another pipeline will be needed, so expect to see this proposal, or another like it, come up again in some form or another.
