It’s safe to say the December 2008 series of snowstorms (Dec. 14-23, but particularly Dec. 20-22) will be one to remember for several reasons – the depth of snow, the degree of cold and the length of time it all brought much of Oregon to a standstill. But how did they affect nurseries in Oregon? With nearly all of the snow melted away in most locations, growers are getting a good look at the condition of their field-grown stock as well as their greenhouses. According to early indications, a number of you lost have lost multiple greenhouses to the weight of the snow and ice. If you have specifics to share, please leave a comment, or send us an e-mail. Thanks.
