Fewer trucks on the road

Bad news for nurseries and others who are dependent on the trucking industry. Massive bankruptcies and shutdowns have taken some 127,000 trucks off the road, with many being sold to companies in Eastern Europe and Russia, the Capital Press (Salem, Ore.) reported. High Desert Green Industry Conference

No match rule implementation delayed until 2009

A U.S. Circuit Court judge has issued rulings that, in effect, mean there will be no enforcement of the Social Security No Match Rule until the first quarter of 2009, at the earliest. Employment law attorney Ron Guerra of Jordan Schrader Ramis P.C. has a complete analysis.
